The chief marketing officer of Netflix, Marian Lee, shared insights about the opening in a recent interview. She mentioned the venue was nearing completion when the hit series “KPop Demon Hunters” gained popularity over the summer. As a result, the team quickly adjusted various elements of the venue to feature the show.
- Location: King of Prussia Mall, Philadelphia
- Opening Date: November 12
- Size: 100,000 square feet
KPop Demon Hunters Immersive Experiences
A significant effort has gone into incorporating features from “KPop Demon Hunters” into Netflix House. This includes a large mural showcasing fan-favorite character Derpy, created by local artist Emily White. There will also be a fiberglass installation of Derpy for photo opportunities, along with themed merchandise and menu items at Netflix Bites, the venue’s restaurant.
Ticketed Offerings and Experiences
In addition to free admission to the general areas of Netflix House, there are several ticketed interactive experiences:
- One Piece Experience: $39
- Wednesday Experience: $39
- Virtual Reality Rooms: $25
- Top 9 Mini Golf Course: $15
These experiences are designed to provide immersive storytelling, with each session lasting approximately 60 to 75 minutes. The offerings represent a blend of narrative-driven escapades and engaging gameplay, catering to diverse audiences.
Future Expansions
Netflix plans to expand the Netflix House concept beyond Philadelphia. A second location will debut in Dallas next month, featuring attractions based on “Stranger Things” and “Squid Game.” Additionally, a third venue is planned for Las Vegas, expected to open in 2027, which will include a “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” experience.
Community Engagement
Netflix emphasized its commitment to local communities through this project. The Philadelphia location involved employing 260 local workers during the construction phase, with over 300 positions available once the venue opens. There will also be merchandise designed exclusively for the Philadelphia market, reflecting the community’s unique culture.
This local immersion aligns with Netflix’s principle of being “local for local,” as it develops content targeting specific audiences worldwide.
Overall, Netflix House in Philadelphia marks a significant step for the streaming giant as it ventures into in-person experiences, aiming to cultivate brand loyalty akin to that of major theme parks.
