Eagles vs. Packers: Two Rookies Listed as Healthy Scratches

The Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers are set to clash in their Week 9 NFL matchup, but both teams have made significant roster decisions regarding player availability. The Eagles announced several healthy scratches, while the Packers will miss a few key contributors.

Eagles’ Inactive Players

The Eagles have confirmed the following players will not participate in the game:

  • Cam Jurgens – Injured
  • Jaire Alexander – Knee/Coach’s decision
  • A.J. Dillon – Healthy scratch
  • Mac McWilliams – Healthy scratch
  • Ty Robinson – Healthy scratch
  • Sam Howell – Emergency third quarterback

Cam Jurgens was ruled out due to an injury mentioned in the final report. Young center Brett Toth is expected to start his second game.

Jaire Alexander was downgraded to out and did not travel with the team. A.J. Dillon finds himself as a healthy scratch for the second time in three games, which raises questions about his future on the roster as the fourth running back.

Mac McWilliams and Ty Robinson are both healthy scratches again, playing limited snaps throughout the season. Robinson has participated in 35 defensive snaps and 15 on special teams.

Sam Howell will only enter the game if both Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee are unavailable.

Debuts in the Eagles Lineup

On a positive note, the Eagles will see the debuts of Jaelan Phillips and Michael Carter II during this game. Philips will wear No. 50, while Carter will don No. 35. Nolan Smith is also active after being on injured reserve since Week 3.

However, Jakorian Bennett and Willie Lampkin were not activated in time to participate.

Packers’ Inactive Players

The Green Bay Packers will be without the following players:

  • Nate Hobbs – Injured
  • Lukas Van Ness – Injured
  • Matthew Golden – Questionable

This situation adds to the existing challenges for the Packers, who are already dealing with injuries at the wide receiver position and missing tight end Tucker Kraft. Starting right tackle Zach Tom, however, has been cleared to play despite previously being questioned.

Both teams will need to navigate their rosters carefully as they prepare for this crucial Week 9 matchup.
