Nolan Smith Activated from Injured Reserve as Eagles Update Roster
The Philadelphia Eagles have made significant roster changes ahead of their Week 10 matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.
Nolan Smith Activated from Injured Reserve
On November 4, the Eagles activated Nolan Smith’s 21-day practice window, allowing him to return from injured reserve. He participated fully in practice leading up to the game, providing a much-needed boost to the Eagles’ pass rush. Smith’s skills as a run defender are also vital, as he excels in setting the edge.
Roster Adjustments
In conjunction with Smith’s activation, the Eagles had to fill an open roster spot after releasing Patrick Johnson. Johnson was subsequently re-signed to the practice squad and will contribute on special teams while also providing depth at edge rusher.
- Nolan Smith
- Jalyx Hunt
- Jaelan Phillips
- Brandon Graham
- Joshua Uche
- Patrick Johnson
This arrangement gives the Eagles six edge rushers available for the game against the Packers.
Injury Updates on Other Players
The team decided not to activate Jakorian Bennett or Willie Lampkin from injured reserve. Bennett’s practice window was opened on October 22, and the Eagles have until November 12 to activate him or shut him down for the season. Initially, there were expectations that he might play cornerback during this game, but that won’t happen.
In Bennett’s absence, Adoree’ Jackson or Kelee Ringo is expected to start at cornerback during the game.
Willie Lampkin’s practice window opened on November 6, and while injuries to Cam Jurgens raised hopes for his activation, that will not transpire until at least Week 11.
The Eagles are focused on maximizing their roster capabilities as they prepare for the critical face-off against the Packers, aiming for victory in Monday Night Football.
