In a corresponding roster move, the Rangers placed forward Matt Rempe on long-term injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. Additionally, the team recalled Gabe Perreault from the American Hockey League affiliate in Hartford.

Rangers coach Mike Sullivan highlighted Perreault’s potential, noting, “We’re hoping that he can bring that confidence to this group.” Perreault aims to make a positive impact after being held without a point in five NHL games last season.

The Rangers are experiencing difficulties on home ice. They have been shut out in five of their seven home games this season, posting a record of 0-6-1.

Injury Updates Across the League

In other news, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Edmonton Oilers is sidelined for approximately one week due to an undisclosed injury. He has amassed 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 16 games this season. In his absence, Mattias Janmark will make his season debut.

Moreover, Zach Hyman is not in the lineup for Monday’s game but may return later in the week. Hyman has not played since dislocating his wrist during the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars on May 27 of the previous season. Jonah Gadjovich of the Florida Panthers faces a three-month recovery following surgery for an upper-body injury. Gadjovich was injured during a 3-0 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on October 25, contributing three assists in ten games this season. He had a notable performance last season, registering three points in 16 playoff games while helping the Panthers clinch their second consecutive championship.
