Zac Brown Designs Concert Venue for Margaritaville at Sea Cruise Ship
Zac Brown, a prominent country music artist, is set to design a unique concert venue for Margaritaville at Sea’s upcoming cruise ship, the Beachcomber. This space, named Same Boat, will stand as the largest live music venue onboard.
About the Same Boat Venue
Same Boat will feature a variety of design elements, including:
- Table seating arrangements for guests
- Overlapping rugs that enhance ambiance
- A bar positioned next to large exterior windows
- A shallow stage bearing the Zac Brown Band logo
A lyric from the band’s song “Toes,” stating, “Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand, life is good today,” will be displayed on one of the venue’s walls.
Design Philosophy
Brown envisions Same Boat as an “easygoing” space that reflects his personal journey. He noted, “Every detail reflects pieces of my own journey — from the stage to the sea — all coming together to create a place where people can connect, share a drink, listen to great music and feel that incredible sense of freedom you only find at a show or out on the open water.”
Collaboration with Jimmy Buffett
The venue’s name, Same Boat, is inspired by a song co-written with Margaritaville founder Jimmy Buffett. This collaboration appeared in the Deluxe edition of the Zac Brown Band’s album “The Comeback,” released in 2021. Unfortunately, Buffett passed away in 2023, marking the end of an era for fans.
Cruise Ship Information
The Beachcomber is scheduled to commence operations in early 2027, with Miami serving as its new homeport. The ship is currently known as the Costa Fortuna and will conclude its final cruise under the Costa brand in September 2026.
