The 2026 Grammy Award nominations have been announced, highlighting talented musicians from Upstate New York. Among the nominees is Joe Bonamassa, a prominent figure in the blues genre.
Joe Bonamassa: A Five-Time Nominee
Joe Bonamassa, originally from New Hartford, N.Y., has received his fifth nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album. His album “Breakthrough” is in competition against works from well-known artists such as:

Bonamassa began performing in Utica at the age of 12 and later opened for legendary artist B.B. King. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles. Despite four previous nominations in 2013, 2016, 2022, and 2025, he has yet to secure a Grammy win.
