Future Developments at Bywater Navy Base

The former Navy base in Bywater has long been seen as an area ripe for redevelopment. Recently, in March, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approved a substantial loan guarantee. This financial support is part of a $166 million financing package aimed at transforming the main structure into nearly 300 rent-subsidized apartments.

Community interest in the revitalization of the Bywater Navy Base continues to grow as efforts to improve the site progress, offering hope for its future.
