Complete List of Social Welfare Payments Set to Increase by Up to 10 Euros Weekly
The upcoming adjustments to social welfare payments have been officially confirmed, with notable increases set to take effect starting January 2026. The Department of Social Protection has announced that several social welfare schemes will see weekly increments of up to €10, as part of Budget 2026. However, not all schemes will receive these increases.

Monthly Payment Increases
Additional adjustments include a monthly increase for the Domiciliary Care Allowance by €20. In addition, the Child Support Payment, previously known as Increase for a Qualified Child, will also see a rise:
- Full rate for children under 12: €50 to €58
- Half rate for children under 12: €25 to €29
- Full rate for children aged 12 and over: €62 to €78
- Half rate for children aged 12 and over: €31 to €39
Furthermore, the weekly Fuel Allowance will increase from €33 to €38.
Payments Excluded from Increases
Not all social welfare schemes will benefit from these increases. For instance:
- The Living Alone Increase remains at €22 per week.
- The Island Increase for residents of specified offshore islands will stay at €20 per week.
- The Bereaved Parent Grant, worth €8,000, will continue to be a one-time payment.
- Child Benefit will maintain its monthly rate of €140.
- The Carer’s Support Grant, valued at €2,000 annually, will also remain unchanged.
