Allison Mack Reveals Smallville Co-Star Kristin Kreuk Introduced Her to Nxivm Sex Cult
Allison Mack recently shared insights into her involvement with the controversial Nxivm organization during the premiere of her podcast, “Allison After Nxivm.” In the first episode, Mack indicated that her introduction to the group was through her former “Smallville” co-star, Kristin Kreuk.
Introduction to Nxivm
According to Mack, she and Kreuk developed a close friendship during their time filming “Smallville.” They traveled together to several countries, including Syria, Turkey, Mongolia, and Paris. Mack described their shared experiences as enjoyable but noted a sense of dissatisfaction they both felt despite their success.
Friendship and Influence
Mack recalled conversations with Kreuk about feeling an “odd emptiness” in their lives. Kreuk later took a course offered by Nxivm while they were in Vancouver. Mack claimed that Kreuk praised the organization, saying, “It’s the science of joy” and encouraged Mack to participate as well.
- Kreuk described Nxivm as life-changing, compelling Mack to attend a retreat.
- Both actresses felt they were searching for answers at a time when they had seemingly fulfilling lives.
Kreuk’s Response
Kristin Kreuk reacted to the situation by denying any involvement in illegal activities related to Nxivm. She stated she took a self-help course at the age of 23, which helped her overcome personal challenges. Kreuk clarified that she distanced herself from Nxivm about five years ago and had minimal contact with its remaining members.
Allegations of Criminal Activity
Contrary to Kreuk’s claims, Nxivm has faced serious allegations. The organization, based in Albany, New York, attracted numerous followers, including celebrities. Prosecutors revealed that its leader, Keith Raniere, created a secret subgroup called DOS, which engaged in abusive practices, including branding women and coercing them into sexual acts.
- Mack served as a high-ranking member of DOS, accused of recruiting and controlling women.
- She pleaded guilty to racketeering and conspiracy charges in 2019, resulting in a three-year prison sentence.
Mack’s Reflections
During her sentencing, Mack expressed deep remorse for her role in Nxivm, labeling it “the biggest mistake and greatest regret of my life.” In 2023, she was released from prison after serving 21 months.
Keith Raniere is currently serving a 120-year prison sentence for orchestrating the activities of the sex cult.
