Discover Halifax’s Brightest Seasonal and Cultural Shows Lighting Up Winter

The Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC) is working to alleviate winter blues with vibrant light shows. This year’s exhibition kicked off on a memorable note with a special Remembrance Day projection. The show illuminated the facade of the former Halifax Memorial Library, located at the junction of Spring Garden Road and Grafton Street.

Seasonal and Cultural Light Shows in Halifax

The light projection series commenced on Friday and is scheduled to run through January 18, 2026. It features seven distinct seasonal and cultural themed shows that provide visual harmony as daylight dims in winter months.

Key Features of the Light Show Series

  • The light shows will operate until 11 p.m. nightly.
  • Earlier start times are planned as dusk approaches the winter solstice.
  • The DHBC aims to enhance the aesthetics of Downtown Halifax during winter’s darkest days.

Additional Installations and Decorations

In addition to the light shows, there will be enchanting light displays at various parks. A highlight is a 28-foot tall illuminated tree at Peace and Friendship Park. The downtown area will also feature winter-themed decorations to elevate the seasonal atmosphere.
