The original A Different World aired for six successful seasons from 1987 to 1993. The show depicted the college experiences of Denise Huxtable, portrayed by actress Lisa Bonet, at the fictional Hillman College, a historically Black university.
New Directions in the Sequel
The upcoming series will center around Deborah Wayne, the daughter of fan-favorite couple Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, played by Kadeem Hardison and Jasmine Guy, respectively. Emerging actress Maleah Joi Moon, aged 23, has been cast in the lead role.
