Voting for the Emegypt Buffalo Wild Wings Girls Athlete of the Week has commenced. This week’s nominees showcase five talented athletes, primarily from the volleyball court, with one standout swimmer. The voting period is open until noon on Friday, November 14.

  • Gabby DiVita, Grosse Pointe South (Volleyball)
    DiVita led her team to victories over Grosse Pointe North and Detroit Renaissance. She achieved 63 kills, averaging nine per set, and maintained a hitting percentage of .426. Defensively, she contributed 27 digs and four blocks.
  • Brenna Mirovsky, Oxford (Volleyball)
    Mirovsky played a key role in helping Oxford secure its first district title since 2002. During matches against Lake Orion and Clarkston, she recorded 22 kills, 35 digs, three blocks, and seven serving assists.
  • Kayla Nwabueze, Bloomfield Hills (Volleyball)
    Nwabueze’s strong performance propelled her team to the regional semifinals after a historic win against Bloomfield Hills Marian. Across two matches, she tallied 35 kills, 13 digs, and three aces.
  • Ashlyn Taylor, Gibraltar Carlson (Swimming)
    At the Downriver League Championship, Taylor excelled in two individual events, setting personal bests. She finished the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.21 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:18.79, both leading her team to victory.
  • Eleanor Williams, Romeo (Volleyball)
    Williams, despite being unranked, propelled Romeo to a notable upset against No. 7 Utica Eisenhower. She achieved a total of 35 kills, 21 digs, four blocks, and five aces over two matches.
