The typhoon struck the northeastern region of the Philippines on Sunday, resulting in notable destruction. At least two fatalities have been confirmed, and approximately 1.4 million residents were evacuated from affected areas. The storm caused widespread power outages.

Infrastructure Damage

  • Over 30 roads were reported damaged.
  • Damage was noted in 31 road sections across eight regions.
  • Twenty electric utilities in 12 regions declared total power outages.

In response to the destruction, authorities are mobilizing all available resources to restore infrastructure. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has instructed government agencies to prioritize various emergency measures.

The Chinese Meteorological Administration advised residents to prepare for possible evacuations and to assemble emergency kits. Currently, a Level 3 emergency response has been activated across the regions affected.

The government continues to focus on evacuating residents, providing medical aid, and undertaking debris removal and road reconstruction efforts. Authorities are coordinating closely to manage the aftermath of Super Typhoon Fung-Wong.
