In the world of collegiate basketball, exceptional performances shine bright. This week, Brooklyn Meyer of South Dakota State University (SDSU) received the prestigious Summit League Women’s Basketball Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week award.
Outstanding Season-Opening Performances
Meyer, a senior forward from Larchwood, Iowa, has had an impressive start to the season. She helped lead the SDSU Jackrabbits to a perfect 2-0 record by delivering standout performances in both games.
Impressive Game Against Creighton
In the season opener against Creighton, Meyer displayed her scoring ability. She scored 33 points, shooting an impressive 70 percent from the field (14-of-20). Meyer collected eight rebounds, delivered five assists, and recorded five blocks during the 78-62 victory. This performance saw her score 13 of the team’s 20 points in the second quarter and added 10 in the fourth quarter.
Dominating Performance Against Rice
Meyer continued her stellar play in the home opener against Rice. She achieved a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, along with four blocks, helping the Jackrabbits win 79-65. After a slow first half with only five points, she rebounded with 17 points in the second half.
