Valve Unveils New Steam Machine in Latest PC-Console Hybrid Revelation
Valve has unveiled its latest iteration of at-home gaming hardware, showcasing an innovative Steam Machine. This new device serves as a gaming PC designed to function similarly to a console. Alongside the Steam Machine, Valve introduced the Steam Frame, its upcoming VR headset, and a revamped Steam Controller. All three products are scheduled for release in early 2026.
Details of Valve’s New Steam Machine
The Steam Machine features a compact cube design and runs on Steam OS. It is optimized for gaming and is intended for use both by the TV and on a desk. As a versatile PC, users can install various apps or alternate operating systems as desired. By simply logging into a Steam account, players can access their extensive game libraries.
Technical Specifications

According to Valve, the Steam Machine boasts six times the power of its predecessor, the Steam Deck. Additionally, games will receive verification ratings to ensure optimal performance on the device.
Introducing the Steam Frame
The Steam Frame headset aims to provide seamless streaming for all Steam games, not limited to VR titles. It is designed to be comfortable, wireless, and lightweight, supporting input from controllers for traditional PC and VR games. The device will be powered by a Snapdragon processor, enabling it to function as a stand-alone PC.
The New Steam Controller
The final piece of hardware revealed is the updated Steam Controller. This controller retains the dual trackpads found on the Steam Deck, enhancing gameplay for genres that benefit from mouse and keyboard precision. Users can customize the controller extensively, and it will be ready to use with thousands of community configurations on launch day.
With integration across all Steam-compatible devices, including PCs, tablets, and smartphones, the Steam Controller pairs efficiently with the Steam Deck, Steam Frame, and Steam Machine.

The new hardware lineup will be available for preorder via Steam. While specific pricing remains undisclosed, the Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller will ship to various regions, including:
