If the Republic of Ireland secures a direct qualifying spot, they will have three group matches at home. Topping their group would secure them a Round of 16 match at Aviva Stadium. Conversely, a second-place finish would lead them to play at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Euro 2028 will see Ireland co-hosting the event with England, Scotland, and Wales. Notably, two spots will be reserved for host nations that fail to qualify directly.
The tournament is set to commence on June 9, 2028, in Cardiff, with the final scheduled for July 9, 2028, at Wembley Stadium in London.
Economic Impact and Investment
The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has projected significant financial benefits from hosting Euro 2028. Expected socio-economic benefits for Ireland alone are estimated at €449 million. Overall, the UK and Ireland can anticipate around €4.1 billion in economic gains from the tournament between 2028 and 2031.
The FAI plans to invest up to €93 million to facilitate the tournament. This investment will include €6.2 million specifically allocated for social impact and community activity programs.
