Mount Dennis GO Station Set to Launch Service This Sunday

The Mount Dennis GO Station is set to officially commence service this Sunday, providing vital connectivity to the region. This new facility is strategically located on Eglinton Avenue West, nestled between Weston Road and Black Creek Drive. It aims to improve transit accessibility by integrating seamlessly with the TTC bus service and the Kitchener GO line.

Service Details

The Mount Dennis station will serve as a crucial stop for both GO and UP Express trains. Key operational details include:

  • Kitchener GO trips will operate every 30 minutes on weekdays.
  • Weekend service for Kitchener GO will be available every hour.
  • Travel time from Mount Dennis to Union station via the UP Express is approximately 13 minutes.

Future Developments

In addition to current services, the Mount Dennis station will eventually serve as the western terminus for the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT) line. This line was initially slated to open in 2020, with construction commencing in 2011. However, multiple delays have pushed back the anticipated launch.

As the Mount Dennis GO Station begins operations, it promises to enhance public transportation options, streamline commuter travel, and contribute to the broader transit framework in the Greater Toronto Area.
