Virgin Media has announced an innovative way to enhance its offerings for subscribers, making several FAST channels available for on-demand viewing. This feature is accessible through Virgin Media’s On Demand streaming app and the Search function on set-top boxes, all at no additional cost.
Understanding FAST Channels
FAST, or Free Ad Supported Television, refers to channels offered without a subscription fee but include advertisements throughout programming. These channels typically air in a linear format, resembling traditional TV rather than on-demand streaming services like BBC iPlayer or Netflix.
New Availability for Virgin Media Customers
The recent update allows Virgin Media customers with a V6, Virgin TV360, or Stream box to access eleven popular FAST channels on-demand. This capability extends to mobile devices through the On Demand app. David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, stated, “We’re making unmissable content even easier to enjoy.”

Earlier this month, Virgin Media also integrated a new FAST channel, Inside Outside, to its lineup, marking it as the 33rd FAST channel added. This expansion reflects Virgin Media’s commitment to providing a diverse range of content for its subscribers.
To find these channels on your Virgin Media service, users can navigate to the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), where they are listed alongside other available channels. This update positions Virgin Media as a competitive player in the ever-evolving landscape of TV content delivery.
