The Land Development Agency (LDA) has initiated applications for a significant cost-rental housing project in Dublin. This development, known as Cooper Square, will feature over 600 apartments upon completion. The LDA is collaborating with Cairn Homes, the lead developer, on this project located in the burgeoning Seven Mills area of Dublin 22, situated between Clondalkin and Lucan along the Grand Canal.

Currently, applications are welcome for the initial 229 cost-rental homes. This initiative aims to offer secure rental options at rates significantly below the market average, fostering affordable living conditions.
Monthly Rent Structure
- One-bedroom apartments: starting at €1,350
- Two-bedroom apartments: starting at €1,500
- Three-bedroom apartments: starting at €1,790

John Coleman, the CEO of the LDA, expressed enthusiasm about the project. He stated that these high-quality apartments will serve as excellent homes and positively impact the Seven Mills community. The LDA has already successfully delivered over 2,200 cost-rental apartments, highlighting a commitment to expand this type of housing.

According to Michael Stanley, CEO of Cairn Homes, the first residents will soon occupy their energy-efficient rental homes in Cooper Square. The construction is progressing well, with full completion expected by late 2026. This includes all 607 apartments, amenities for tenants, and enhancements to public spaces.
