In a recent stabbing incident in Cork, a couple in their 70s sustained critical injuries. The attack occurred around 9:30 PM in the Shrewsbury Downs estate, located off Ballinlough Road. A man in his 30s allegedly attacked the couple outside their home.

Emergency Response to the Cork Stabbing Incident

Witnesses reported the incident promptly, leading neighbors to alert emergency services. Officers from the Armed Support Unit (ASU) at Anglesea Street Garda station were among the first responders at the scene. They managed to disarm the suspect, who was known to the couple, and initiated lifesaving measures, including CPR, on the injured victims.

Transport to Hospital

Paramedics arrived shortly after to transport the couple to Cork University Hospital. Unfortunately, both individuals are currently in critical condition.

Arrest of the Suspect
