Cork Dean Nigel Dunne Marries Sonya in a Heartfelt Ceremony featuring 40-Member Choir
The Very Reverend Nigel Dunne, the Dean of Cork since 2007, has married his partner, Sonya Keogh. The ceremony took place on Saturday, 15 November, attended by 300 guests.
Ceremony Highlights
The wedding was held at the historic Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral in Cork City. The Right Reverend Dr. Paul Colton, Bishop of Cork, officiated the nuptial ceremony. Additionally, Reverend Canon Paul Willoughby, Rector of Kilmocomogue Union of Parishes and Canon of St. Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin, celebrated the Nuptial Eucharist.
Celebratory Choir and Music
A standout feature of the event was the performance by the Cathedral Choir, which consisted of approximately 40 singers. The choir was directed by Peter Stobart, the Director of Music, alongside Assistant Director Matthew Breen. The musical accompaniment included a talented ensemble of local musicians playing strings, trumpet, flute, and timpani.

Sonya Keogh made a stunning entrance in a gown and wedding coat designed by Sue Pearce, a renowned Cork-based couturiere known for her handcrafted bridal wear.
