Enhancements to User Safety
The age verification process is designed to safeguard younger users by restricting certain features based on age. Parents will maintain control over their children’s accounts, allowing them to modify birthday details through Parental Controls after completing a Facial Age Estimation.
Age-Based Communication Features
One of the key developments includes age-based chat restrictions. This feature enables users to communicate with peers in similar age groups. The introduction of Facial Age Estimation technology allows Roblox to implement these measures effectively.
Chat Safety Protocols
- Users under nine years old will have their chat functionalities disabled by default unless parental consent is obtained.
- Chat outside of experiences remains limited for users under 13.
- Users will be categorized into age groups following the age verification process: Under 9, 9-12, 13-15, 16-17, 18-20, or 21+.
