Michal Šimečka, leader of the Progressive Slovakia party, challenged Fico’s reasoning. He stated, “Robert Fico just wants to tell us that the holiday of freedom is useless, that freedom is useless. We value freedom and we will not let it be taken away from us.”

On the same day, Prague’s Old Town Square witnessed a large demonstration against the newly formed right-wing government led by Prime Minister-designate Andrej Babiš.
