Discover Prague’s Thrilling Showjumping Finale Your Essential Guide to GCL and LGCT Playoffs
Prague will host an exciting series of equestrian events this weekend, focusing on the GCL and LGCT playoffs. This thrilling showdown includes multiple stages, culminating in the highly anticipated GCL Super Cup Final.
Overview of the GCL Team Competition
The GCL team competition plays out in three essential stages. The top four teams from the 2025 GCL season automatically qualify for the semifinals on Friday.
Teams ranked fifth to sixteenth must compete in the quarterfinals on Thursday. This round features a challenging 1.60m class where three combinations from each team jump against the clock. Importantly, there is no drop score, meaning every penalty and second contributes to the final ranking.
Quarterfinals and Semifinals
The best eight teams from the quarterfinals advance to the semifinals. Similar to the previous round, the semifinals involve one round at 1.60m with no allowance for dropped scores. The stakes are significantly higher here, with a total prize fund of €2 million.
Rankings for both rounds are determined by penalties and cumulative time. Only six teams will proceed to the final competition held on Sunday.

The GCL Super Cup Final
The climax of the weekend is the GCL Super Cup Final, where teams contend for a massive prize of €6.5 million. This final consists of two rounds at 1.60m. Once again, there is no drop score, and every competitor’s performance affects the ultimate results.
