A tragic multi-vehicle collision in County Meath has resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to several others. The incident involved a Bus Éireann bus, a truck, and a car on the R132 at Gormanston on Monday morning.

The crash occurred around 5:45 AM. The driver of the truck, a man in his 40s, and the bus driver, a man in his 50s, were both pronounced dead at the scene. A female driver in her 40s, who was in the car, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Beaumont Hospital.

Injuries and Hospitalizations

A teenage girl traveling in the same car was initially taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital before being transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. In addition to these individuals, several others were hospitalized with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Ongoing Investigation

The R132 has been closed for a thorough technical examination conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are currently in place to manage traffic. Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward.
