Dublin’s Tropical Popical nail salon is preparing for a significant pop-up event celebrating World AIDS Day on December 1, 2025. This occasion will coincide with the inaugural World AIDS Day Festival, which runs from November 7 to December 1. The festival aims to raise awareness of HIV and provide support for affected individuals.
World AIDS Day Festival 2025
The World AIDS Day Festival 2025 brings an energetic and educational atmosphere to Dublin. This festival combines remembrance and celebration while emphasizing the importance of HIV awareness. All proceeds from the events will benefit the Gay Community News (GCN) organization.
Pop-Up Event Details
The Tropical Popical pop-up will target women, who currently account for 20% to 25% of new HIV diagnoses. The event intends to offer a secure environment and educational resources regarding HIV.
- Date: December 1, 2025
- Time: 3 PM – 5 PM
- Location: Tropical Popical Nail Salon, Dublin
Testing and Support Services
During the pop-up, attendees will have access to HIV testing conducted by two senior nurses from the HIV Testing Hub. Testing will be available without the necessity of booking a manicure, although participants are encouraged to do so.
Andrea Horan, the founder of Tropical Popical, highlighted the event’s significance. She noted that awareness and testing are vital, especially given the rising number of diagnoses among women. Horan remarked, “Testing should feel as routine as getting your nails done.”
Access to Resources
For those who cannot join the pop-up, free testing kits can be ordered from sh24.ie, which also provides more information about HIV awareness and testing options.
The World AIDS Day Festival 2025 aims to make a meaningful impact on Dublin’s community. The initiative seeks to break the stigma associated with HIV while promoting an atmosphere of knowledge and support.
