Christmas FM returns tomorrow to kick off the 2025 festive season
Christmas FM, Ireland’s cherished festive radio station, is set to return tomorrow at midday, marking its 18th year on the airwaves. The station has become a holiday tradition, known for its commitment to spreading Christmas cheer and supporting local charities.
Christmas FM and Charity Support
Since its inception, Christmas FM has raised over €4 million for various charities. This year’s Magic of Christmas Appeal will focus on three prominent children’s charities:
- Barnardos
- Barretstown
- Make-A-Wish Ireland
In addition, the station collaborates with Community Foundation Ireland to benefit a range of other children’s charities across the country.
Community Engagement and Sponsorships
Each year, a dedicated team of volunteers, alongside a core management team, breathe life into the station’s programming. They are based at The Clayton Hotel in Liffey Valley, which has generously provided studio space once again. This year, Christmas FM proudly announces Coca-Cola, An Post, and Cadbury as its premier FM sponsors, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Launch by Local Children
The launch for the 2025 festive season features the first class from St. Peter’s National School in Dunboyne, County Meath. They will officially switch on the Christmas broadcasts, having won a competition to become Santa’s little helpers.
Garvan Rigby, co-founder of Christmas FM, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season and the involvement of the students. He acknowledged the support from Coimisiún na Meán and the station’s incredible listeners and volunteers, which has been crucial in reaching this milestone.
As Christmas FM returns, the station invites everyone to join in the celebrations and help spread holiday joy throughout Ireland.
