Trump Pardon Frees Todd and Julie Chrisley for Holidays
Todd and Julie Chrisley have returned home for the holidays, marking their first family celebration together in two years. The couple, known for their reality show “Chrisley Knows Best,” faced legal challenges leading to convictions for bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022. Following a 28-month prison sentence, they received pardons from former President Donald Trump in May 2025.
Celebrating Together Again
As they prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas, Todd and Julie express gratitude for being reunited with their family. Todd, 56, noted the importance of spending the holidays together. “Christmas is a big time for Julie,” he remarked, highlighting her enthusiasm for decorations and festivities.
Julie, 52, echoed his sentiments, emphasizing how challenging it was to be apart during the holidays previously. The couple shares three children: Chase, 29; Savannah, 28; and Grayson, 19. Todd also has two older children, Lindsie, 36, and Kyle, 34, from a previous relationship.
Family Dynamics Post-Incarceration
The couple’s absence from last year’s celebrations weighed heavily on their family. Savannah reflected on the emotional toll during her podcast, discussing how they coped without their parents. She also undertook the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings during Todd and Julie’s incarceration.
While Savannah’s family adjusted to the situation, she organized an international trip for the holidays last year instead of a traditional celebration. “Trying to pretend everything’s the same really is not what’s in the best interest for everybody,” she explained.
Support from Former President Trump
Savannah’s campaign for her parents’ pardons was extensive. She met with government officials and utilized her platforms to raise awareness about their case. After the pardons were granted, she shared that Trump personally informed her of the decision.
In a heartfelt conversation, Todd recounted his phone call with Trump post-release, where he expressed gratitude for the support. Trump’s encouragement and kindness were appreciated during their challenging time.
A Return to Tradition
As the Chrisleys plan their Thanksgiving celebration, Julie is excited to host. She has already secured a traditional menu filled with southern favorites, including turkey and macaroni and cheese. Todd hinted that Julie may return to television with a new cooking show planned for next year.
The family intends to maintain their customary holiday traditions. Todd has prepped his holiday shopping list and mentions the importance of cherishing these moments after their time apart. “Savoring the moments this year is crucial,” Julie remarked, acknowledging how much they had missed during their absence.
Looking Ahead
Todd and Julie are also considering relocating to Texas as part of their future plans, with aspirations to build a permanent family home in Charleston, South Carolina. They envision a compound where their children and beloved family members can gather.
Their return to family life marks a new chapter, filled with hope and togetherness as they celebrate the holiday season.
