Disney+ Star Leaves Series Due to Inadequate Compensation
Claudia Black, a notable star from Disney+, will not return for the second season of “Ahsoka.” This decision comes due to what she described as inadequate compensation for her role. Black portrayed the character Nightsister Klothow in the popular series, but she has opted out of filming for the upcoming season.
Inadequate Compensation Forces Departure
Black revealed that the financial arrangements did not meet her needs as a single mother. She stated, “They picked up Season 2, picked me up with it, and then Disney… could not pay me what I needed.” The filming of the series takes place in London, while she resides in Los Angeles, adding to her logistical challenges.

The location of the filming was a significant factor in Black’s decision. Being away from home and managing her responsibilities became untenable without adequate pay. She explained that the situation was unfortunate but ultimately unavoidable, saying, “I had to bow out for Season 2.”

In her communications with the show’s creator, Dave Filoni, Black expressed gratitude for her time in the “Star Wars” universe. She described it as a “very playful environment” and acknowledged the advancements in filming technology, particularly the innovative set known as The Volume.
