Michelle Monaghan Eager to Continue with The Family Plan 3
Michelle Monaghan has expressed her strong enthusiasm for a potential sequel, The Family Plan 3. The 49-year-old actress recently starred alongside Mark Wahlberg in The Family Plan 2, which debuted last month on Apple TV Plus. Monaghan shared her desire for another installment, stating, “We’d all love to make a Family Plan 3. I think we’d all sign up for that.”
Success of The Family Plan Series
Monaghan highlighted the film series’ appeal, noting the positive reception from audiences. “This is a film series that works, we’ve got an incredible creative team and audiences seem to really love it,” she remarked. Parents have shared their joy with her, saying, “We’ve watched it three times together. Our kids really love it.”
- Monaghan held a surprise screening for her son’s sixth-grade class, receiving a warm response from the children.
- She expressed pride in the franchise’s success, having a good rapport with Wahlberg since their first collaboration in Patriots Day (2016).
Casting and Collaboration
Monaghan reminisced about her history working with Wahlberg, indicating that their previous experience enhanced their collaboration. “Professionally, I knew Mark, and I already had a great rapport with him,” she noted. Her relationship with the production company Skydance, known for its work on Mission: Impossible, also contributed to the project’s momentum.
Mark Wahlberg, who plays a lead role in the franchise, recently shared insights into his personal experiences with family viewing his films. With children Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, and Grace, 15, he mentioned how they now enjoy seeing their father in more mature roles. “They love this movie, and they enjoy seeing dad swearing, kicking a — all the things they couldn’t see when they were kids,” he explained.
The Challenges of Filming
Despite the thrill of action roles, Wahlberg acknowledged the sacrifices involved in his career. He admitted that being away from family during filming is the most significant challenge he faces. “I think that’s the biggest sacrifice, but the action stuff is easy for me. I’m more concerned about bringing this character to life,” he stated.
As discussions of The Family Plan 3 continue, both Monaghan and Wahlberg remain hopeful for another successful chapter in this engaging film series, keen to share more adventures with their audience.
