Athletes Unlimited Softball Expands with New Allocation Draft

The Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) is set to expand for its upcoming season. Following a successful inaugural season, the league will increase its team count from four to six. This expansion will take effect on December 1, with an expansion draft scheduled for existing players.

Details of the Expansion Draft

Two new teams, the Cascade and Oklahoma City Spark, will be formed as part of the expansion. Each team will select from a pool of unprotected players from the current four teams.

  • Each new team will draft five players.
  • Players not selected will return to their original teams.

The allocation draft will follow, where all six teams will pick players who are not currently on any AUSL roster. This event will be broadcast on ESPNU at 7 p.m. ET and available via the AUSL streaming hub.
