The Voice Season 28 introduces an innovative method to select the top six contestants, giving fans an influential role in the competition. This season, viewers have the power to vote for their favorite artists who are vying for a spot in the Live Finale.

Voting Process for Contestants

During the Playoffs, each coach—Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, and Niall Horan—will select one finalist from their respective teams. The remaining artists, unfortunately, face elimination but will still have a chance to continue through fan voting.

Playoff Schedule

  • December 1: Teams Reba and Bublé perform; coaches select their finalists.
  • December 8: Teams Snoop and Niall perform; coaches again select their finalists.
  • December 15: Live Finale with six selected artists.
  • December 16: Winner of The Voice is revealed.

Viewers can vote on NBC.com/VoiceVote or via the Voice App for their favorite non-selected artists during the playoffs. This engagement gives fans a significant influence in determining which contestants advance to the finale.

Mic Drop Competition

Additionally, a special Mic Drop competition occurred during the Knockouts. Although the winner will be announced after the Playoffs, each coach selected one standout artist to perform at the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.

Mic Drop Artists

  • Max Chambers (14 years old) – Team Bublé
  • Dek of Hearts (country trio) – Team Niall
  • Aaron Nichols (cowboy) – Team Reba
  • Yoshihanaa (belter) – Team Snoop

This refreshing format allows for greater audience interaction and will surely keep fans engaged throughout the season.
