Dorothy Ann “Dottie” Daugherty, aged 88, peacefully passed away in her home in Marietta, surrounded by her family. Her death marks the end of a life filled with devotion, love, and service to others.

Dorothy Ann Daugherty: A Life Remembered

Dottie was born on December 7, 1936, in Shade, Ohio. She was the daughter of Francis Robinson and Mary Geneva Gose Robinson. After graduating from Chauncey High School in 1954, Dottie began her professional journey at the Marietta Food Center. She later retired from Walmart after years of dedicated service.

Family and Community Contributions

Dottie was known for her nurturing spirit, often caring for many children in her home. A long-standing member of the Marietta Bible Center Church, she left a significant impact on her community.

  • Marriage: Dottie married Donald Daugherty on May 4, 1958. They shared a deep bond, having started their love story on Valentine’s Day.
  • Children: She is survived by her children: DeeDee Townsend, Don Daugherty Jr. (Penny), Diane Friedler (Todd Blunk), and Dana “Boopsie” Cruse (Roger).
  • Grandchildren: Dottie cherished her grandchildren, who include:

Dottie was preceded in death by her son-in-law Kenny Townsend and several siblings, including Frank Robinson, Jerry Robinson, Patty Stanley, Dana McGraner, Linda Jones, and infant Roger Robinson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, at 1:00 PM at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Pastor Teddy Tackett will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday evening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
