Born and raised in Parkersburg, Jake was the son of Harley Edyrl and Alice Evelyn Kimble Dowler. He worked for 17 years at Mountain State Steel before concluding his career at the Parkersburg Utility Board. His commitment extended beyond his work; he was a devout member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Military Service and Personal Interests

A proud United States Marine veteran, Jake found joy in outdoor activities, particularly hunting and fishing. His passion for these pursuits was well-known among friends and family.

Family and Surviving Members

Jake is survived by many loved ones, including his wife, Sharon Lynn Layner Dowler, with whom he shared a 53-year marriage. He leaves behind two daughters, Angela and Mandy Dowler, along with a special daughter, Nichol Dillon. His legacy continues with three grandsons—Ryan Hamrick, Dylan Dowler, and Trenton Dowler—and three granddaughters—Tiffani Davis, Hailee Miller, and Alivia Dowler. Additionally, he is survived by several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral services for Earl Eugene “Jake” Dowler will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Pastor Michael Lamb will officiate the service. He will be interred at Shiloh Cemetery, honored with military rites.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, offering friends and family an opportunity to pay their respects.
