Two Charged in Bowling Green Apartment Robbery

Bowling Green authorities are currently investigating a serious violent crime that occurred on a Sunday night. The incident took place in an apartment complex on Hillview Mills. Several masked individuals, armed with firearms, attempted to break into a residence, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Details of the Incident

Upon their arrival, officers discovered that the suspects had already fled the scene. As the situation unfolded, gunfire erupted in the area, leading to the identification of a second crime scene on Moss Creek Avenue. Initial reports indicate that four men gained entry into the home through an unlocked back window.

The victims recounted that the intruders demanded to know where the brother’s bedroom was located. During the chaos, the brother returned home and instinctively grabbed a handgun to confront the intruders, who fired back. Officers later confirmed they found multiple bullet casings and evidence of damage within the apartment.

Suspects Flee and Law Enforcement Pursuit

After the attack, the perpetrators fled on foot. Officers pursued individuals seen running towards Spring Creek Avenue but lost track of them in a nearby greenway. Various law enforcement agencies, including the Bowling Green Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and WKU Police, worked together to search for the suspects.

  • Two suspects: Jaivion S. Harris, 21, and Brian C. Williams, 19, were later apprehended.
  • Williams was discovered with an apparent gunshot wound.
  • Drones from the sheriff’s office assisted in locating the injured suspect.

Weapons and Charges Filed

Investigators recovered multiple shell casings at the scene, linking 9mm and 10mm firearms to the robbery. Residents in the vicinity reported hearing gunfire during the incident. One individual claimed to have pursued the suspects with an AR-15 but did not engage with any shots.

The Criminal Investigation Division of the Bowling Green Police has taken charge of the case, and efforts to locate additional suspects and gather more evidence are ongoing. Both Harris and Williams have been charged with first-degree robbery and are currently held at the Warren County Regional Jail.
