On November 26, 2025, after a significant commitment and intense preparation, DiGiulian reached the summit of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, California. Over the span of 23 days, DiGiulian and her partner, Elliot Faber, faced numerous difficulties, including nine days of inclement weather.

Facing Adverse Conditions
As they navigated the ascent, a sudden storm disrupted their plans after day nine, forcing them to set camp on the precarious 32nd pitch known as the Golden Edge. The storm brought relentless wind, rain, and cold, making their situation increasingly challenging. They utilized a Jetboil for cooking and adapted to life on the wall with creative rations and limited communications.
Endurance and Determination
After 18 days of waiting for better weather, the team resumed their ascent despite challenging conditions, characterized by wet and slippery rock surfaces. DiGiulian needed to wear a helmet to protect herself from falling ice chunks as they approached the summit.
Just before reaching the top, unforeseen circumstances required Faber to abandon the climb due to a family emergency. DiGiulian, determined to complete the climb, continued alone with the blessing of her partner. This culmination of effort established her as the first woman to achieve this milestone on the Platinum route.
