The snowplow tracker aids drivers by allowing them to document their routes and road treatments using tablets. The information recorded by the drivers includes:

• Pretreatment: Liquid salt brine applied before snowfall to prevent ice buildup.
• Salted: Rock salt has been spread to help melt snow and ice.
• Plowed: Snow has been cleared from the right-of-way.
• Salted and Plowed: Both snow removal and rock salt application have occurred.
• Problem: An issue impeded road treatment efforts.

Implementation Background

This new tracking system was introduced following the impact of Winter Storm Blair in January, when many streets remained unplowed for days. Local leaders decided to improve operations to ensure better service during future snow events.
