Status Report
For the Stars, Jake Oettinger was initially slated to start but will now act as backup due to a stomach flu. Instead, Casey DeSmith will take the position. Glen Gulutzan, the Stars’ coach, mentioned that Vladislav Kolyachonok will step in for the injured Lian Bichsel, who requires surgery and is out for 6-8 weeks.
On the Rangers’ side, Coach Mike Sullivan is weighing the option between Conor Sheary and Brennan Othmann to replace Adam Edstrom, who sustained a day-to-day injury in practice. Additionally, defenseman Adam Fox will sit out after getting injured in a recent game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Matthew Robertson will take Fox’s spot on the defensive line.
Jonathan Quick, another key player for the Rangers, is currently skating but is not yet ready for game action. Spencer Martin has been recalled to serve as the backup goalie for Igor Shesterkin.
