Hope Leyba, Jordan Nytes Garner Postseason Honors for CU Buffs Soccer
Following a remarkable season, the Colorado women’s soccer team received significant postseason accolades. Junior forward Hope Leyba and senior goalkeeper Jordan Nytes were both honored as semifinalists for the prestigious Hermann Trophy, awarded to the nation’s top player.
CU Buffs Soccer Achievements
The Colorado Buffaloes concluded their season with a strong record of 17 wins, 4 losses, and 3 draws. They made it to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, marking just the third time in program history that they reached this stage. This achievement placed CU among a select group of four teams, including Notre Dame, Stanford, and Vanderbilt, which had two players represented on the Hermann Trophy semifinalist list.
Individual Honors
- Hope Leyba:
- Set team records with 22 goals and 45 points.
- Awarded Big 12’s Forward of the Year.
- Jordan Nytes:
- Claimed her third Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year award.
- Achieved a .852 save percentage, ranking fifth in program history.
- Finished as CU’s all-time leader with 26 shutouts and a .829 career save percentage, placing third all-time.
- Jace Holley:
- First team All-Big 12 selection.
- Tied for fourth among CU’s season leaders with 12 goals.
- Faith Leyba:
- Second consecutive first team All-Big 12 selection.
- Achieved career-highs with four goals and four assists.
- Reagan Kotschau:
- Received fourth-team All-Region honors.
- Scored a career-high seven goals, including game-winners in both NCAA Tournament victories.
Upcoming Announcements
The United Soccer Coaches will announce All-American teams on December 5. Additionally, the three finalists for the Hermann Trophy will be revealed on December 10, with the winner announced on January 9.
