A bomb threat alert prompted response efforts at Liberty University on December 2. The alert originated from the large traffic circle near Williams Stadium.

The threat was officially reported by Liberty University Security & Public Safety. The Lynchburg Police received the call at 10:09 p.m. and established a command center at Thomas Road Baptist Church.

Response Actions Taken

  • Traffic was redirected and many streets were blocked off.
  • The university urged students to avoid the area surrounding Williams Stadium.

Authorities are investigating the situation. The individual who made the threat is reportedly assisting police due to a suspicious item found in the bushes. As of now, no one is in custody.
