Exclusive Solo Experience: Enjoying Singapore Airlines’ 777 First-Class Cabin Alone
Traveling on Singapore Airlines’ 777 first class from Jakarta to Singapore offers an exceptional experience, especially when you are the only passenger in the cabin. This unique opportunity was part of a journey to London, starting from Jakarta (CGK) to Singapore (SIN).
Exclusive Solo Experience on Singapore Airlines 777
Singapore Airlines provides first class service on its 777-300 jets, which feature four luxurious seats. This configuration is also available on its A380-800, where six seats are offered. Although the airline has decreased first class availability on many Asian routes, it continues to service the 546-mile Jakarta-Singapore route with first class tickets.
Onboard Experience
Initially, the anticipation of a crowded cabin faded when I boarded the flight. The purser, Christine, greeted me warmly, informing me that I was the sole occupant of first class. After settling in and enjoying a pre-departure drink, she assured me of an on-time arrival at Changi Airport.
Spacious and Comfortable Seating
- Seat Width: 35 inches
- Bed Length: 81 inches
- No overhead bins; ample space for carry-on items
Although the absence of complete privacy due to no suite doors was noticeable, the spacious environment was welcoming.
Culinary Delights
Slightly dampened by the lack of daylight for photography, I was eager to experience the onboard dining. Singapore Airlines offers a “Book the Cook” feature, allowing passengers to pre-order meals. However, this service was unavailable on the Jakarta route. Instead, I opted for scrambled eggs and French toast, served alongside fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, and coffee shortly after takeoff.
While other options like Nasi Kuning Udang Serundeng and Chicken Congee tempted me, I refrained, knowing another feast awaited me on my subsequent long-haul flight from Singapore to London.
Flight Conclusion
By the time breakfast concluded, we were beginning our descent into Singapore. I was offered additional beverages like fresh-squeezed orange juice and coffee but chose to decline. Additionally, the selection of champagne included the renowned 2007 Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires and 2015 Louis Roederer Cristal, both celebrated choices for a short flight.
We arrived early in Singapore, granting me ample time to walk to my gate for the London connection. I planned to visit the Private Room prior to the long-haul journey ahead.
A detailed review of the flight experience, including amenities, service quality, lavatories, Wi-Fi capabilities, and in-flight entertainment, will follow. This exclusive solo experience on Singapore Airlines showcases the luxury and comfort offered at the highest level of service in aviation.
