Shane initially fled the hospital on foot before stealing a parked SUV. After crashing the vehicle, he attempted to escape on foot yet again. Reports indicate that a Glock handgun was taken from the SUV, raising alarms about his potential threat to the community.
Following the theft, Shane managed to request an Uber from a residence in south Rockdale. Authorities have not confirmed how he accessed the ride. By the time deputies arrived at the pickup location, he had already left the scene.

Timothy Shane is described as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a buzzed haircut. At the time of his escape, he was believed to be wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and dark blue pants. Law enforcement officials have issued warnings, stating that he is armed and dangerous.

During his escape, Shane is also reported to have stolen a Pontiac Grand Prix. This vehicle was later found abandoned at a Publix supermarket located on Highway 155 in Henry County. Authorities remain uncertain if he has taken additional vehicles.
