Unlock ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN DLC – Step-by-Step Guide
The upcoming DLC titled “The Forsaken Hollows” is set to launch on December 4, 2025. This expansion for ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN promises to enhance the gameplay experience with new content.
New Features in “The Forsaken Hollows”
The DLC will introduce:
- Two new Nightfarers: Scholar and Undertaker
- Two formidable bosses
- A unique Shifting Earth event
Unlocking the Nightfarers
To unlock the new Nightfarers, players must defeat the boss “Tricephalos.” After this accomplishment, players need to visit Roundtable Hold. Speak with the Iron Menial, who will deliver a message from the Small Jar Merchant.
Unlocking the New Bosses
To access the new bosses known as “Balancers,” players must meet specific criteria:
- Defeat at least two bosses from the main game, ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN, including “Tricephalos.”
- Ensure both the Scholar and Undertaker Nightfarers are playable.
Once the conditions are satisfied, players can head to the chapel that appears behind the Small Jar Merchant.
Engaging in New Challenges
Players will then be able to challenge the Shifting Earth event called “The Great Hollows.” This includes a boss expedition featuring the Balancers. Moreover, a post-release update will make the Shifting Earth event, raid content, and bases available in the Deep of Night section, even during base game expeditions.
Multiplayer Requirement
For the newly introduced content to trigger in Deep of Night, players must matchmaking with three others who own the DLC.
Activating the DLC on Different Platforms
For PlayStation Users (PS5 & PS4)
If you purchased the DLC in a Deluxe or Collector’s Edition, a manual download is necessary. Search for “nightreign” on the PlayStation Store to locate “ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN The Forsaken Hollows PS4 & PS5” for download.
For Xbox Users (Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One)
Similar to PlayStation, a manual download is required for those with the Deluxe Edition. Find the option beneath the ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN icon post-release. Alternatively, access your owned titles from My Games & Apps for installation.
For PC Users (Steam)
On Steam, automatic downloads for “The Forsaken Hollows” will begin at 8:00 AM JST / 0:00 UTC on December 4, 2025. Before accessing the DLC, ensure Update File 1.03 is downloaded, which is scheduled for December 3, 2025.
