Curaçao Welcomes Historic First LATAM Flights from Bogotá and Lima

On December 2, Curaçao marked a significant milestone with the arrival of two inaugural flights from LATAM Airlines, the largest airline group in Latin America. The first flight from Bogotá, Colombia, landed, followed by a subsequent arrival from Lima, Peru. This event introduces Lima as a new route to Curaçao.

New Flight Routes from LATAM

The Bogotá-Curaçao route will operate three times weekly, specifically on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Similarly, flights from Lima will also run three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. These new connections are part of Curaçao’s strategic initiative to enhance accessibility and strengthen travel links with South America.

Benefits of the New Routes

  • Increased travel options for the local community.
  • Enhanced positioning of Curaçao as a prime tourist destination.
  • Opportunities for travelers to experience local culture and heritage.

During the welcoming ceremony, several dignitaries were present. Minister of Economic Development, Dennise Williams, spoke alongside Gonzalo Ramirez, LATAM’s Director of Operations for North America. Ricardo Hernández, CEO of Curaçao Airport Partners, also addressed the audience.

Representatives from Curaçao Airport Holding, including Chief Strategy Officer Priscilla Duin-Circkens and Commercial Manager Julian Díaz de Pool, participated in the ceremony. Muryad de Bruin, Managing Director of the Curaçao Tourist Board, and Deputy Director Hugo Clarinda were also in attendance.

Recognition of LATAM’s Contribution

During the event, commemorative plaques were presented to LATAM’s Gonzalo Ramirez by Minister Williams and the Curaçao Tourist Board. These plaques showcased stunning images of Curaçao’s city center, symbolizing the importance of the inaugural flights.
