At the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2025, he expressed how his views have changed since performing the infamous dance scene in the 2003 film ‘Love Actually.’

Hugh Grant’s Dance Journey

During the Summit, Grant spoke about his discomfort while filming the beloved dance sequence, where he portrayed the Prime Minister, David. The scene features him dancing to “Jump” by The Pointer Sisters. Grant admitted to dreading the preparation for that scene. “I dreaded that scene more than anything; they would come and say we need to rehearse the dancing scene, and I would pretend to have a bad leg,” he recalled.

Despite initial fears, the actor’s attitude has transformed over the years. Grant revealed, “I love dancing, I can dance at any moment. If I’m standing at Starbucks and there’s music… It’s good manners to dance.” He humorously noted that his children are often embarrassed by his spontaneous dance moves, saying, “They begged me not to.”
