Met Éireann has issued a nationwide Status Yellow Wind Warning and a Rain Alert for several counties in Ireland. This advisory comes as Storm Bram approaches, bringing considerable changes to the weather across the country.
Wind Warnings in Effect
The weather forecast indicates that strong winds will start affecting all counties from 3 AM tonight until 9 PM tomorrow. In particular, a Status Orange Wind Warning will be in place for:
- Cork, Kerry, Waterford, and Wexford from 7 AM to 3 PM tomorrow
- Clare, Limerick, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo from 10 AM to 6 PM tomorrow
Expected Rainfall and Flood Risks
In addition to the wind warnings, a Status Yellow Rain Warning will apply to Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary, and Waterford. This rain alert will be in effect from 9 PM tonight until 9 AM on Tuesday.

As conditions worsened, O’Neill explained that many rivers are currently at high levels due to persistent rain over the past week, increasing the risk of flooding. The storm is expected to bring:
- Heavy and persistent rain, especially in southern regions
- A mix of scattered showers and sunny spells today
- Temperatures ranging between 8 and 12°C
