Discounted Sports Opportunities for MBO Students at USC Amsterdam

In a significant move to enhance the well-being of students in vocational education, discounted sports opportunities are now available for MBO students at USC Amsterdam. This initiative, launched by Amsterdam’s MBO institutions in collaboration with the municipality, aims to promote equality among students.

Discounted Sports Opportunities for MBO Students

Starting immediately, students enrolled in MBO programs across Amsterdam can access sports facilities at the USC. The program offers the following benefits:

  • Free access to USC facilities for the first few months.
  • Substantial discounts on long-term sports subscriptions thereafter.

With this offer, thousands of MBO students can engage in various physical activities at affordable rates. Available options include:

  • Gym access
  • Group classes
  • Martial arts such as kickboxing and MMA
  • Yoga sessions
  • Squash
  • Bouldering

Inclusive for Staff as Well

This initiative is not limited to students. Staff members from participating MBO institutions can also benefit from discounted sports memberships at USC.

Duration and Future Perspectives

The current offer is set to last for an initial period of two years. After this timeframe, there are plans to extend the partnership between MBO schools and the USC.

This project is backed by a significant investment from the MBO-Agenda. The program represents a joint effort by the municipality of Amsterdam, ROC Amsterdam-Flevoland, Mediacollege Amsterdam, and Hout- en meubileringscollege.

Jose Alejandro Vargas Valencia, a student and member of the Central Student Council at ROC Amsterdam-Flevoland, played a vital role in realizing this initiative. His advocacy reflects the commitment to improving student welfare through accessible physical activity.
