Virgin Media Boosts TV Experience with Latest Free Channel Upgrade for Customers

Virgin Media has enhanced its television offerings by introducing new free channels for its subscribers. The latest additions are two channels focused on music: Stingray Classica and Stingray DJAZZ.

New FREE Channel Upgrades

As of today, customers using Virgin V6, Virgin TV360, or Stream set-top boxes can access these channels at no additional cost. Stingray Classica, located on channel 296, is dedicated to classical music, opera, and ballet. It features about 50 world premieres annually, highlighting performances from renowned concert halls and festivals.

Meanwhile, Stingray DJAZZ, available on channel 297, focuses on jazz music. It will showcase concerts, films, and documentaries from various jazz festivals. Viewers can also enjoy artist profiles and backstage interviews.

Recent Channel Additions

Over the past year, Virgin Media has expanded its TV offerings significantly. Some of the other channels launched include:

  • British Screen Classics
  • U&Transport
  • Inside Crime
  • Haunt TV

In December, all customers gained access to the Ultra HD channel (channel 175) for the month. Additionally, the streaming service Tubi was introduced, available for both new and existing subscribers.

Customer Focused Strategy

David Bouchier, Chief TV and Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media O2, emphasized the company’s commitment to enriching the entertainment experience for viewers. He noted, “We’re always looking to offer our customers handpicked channels to broaden our offering.” Bouchier expressed excitement in adding these two music-focused channels, catering to various music enthusiasts.

For customers looking to find these new channels, they can easily navigate to the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) on their Virgin remote. The FAST channels integrate seamlessly with existing programming, providing linear-style viewing complementary to traditional networks and ad-supported streaming like Tubi.

What’s Next for Virgin Media?

With the recent surge in new channel introductions, Virgin Media O2 plans to continue enhancing viewer choices in the coming months. This strategy aims to deliver even more free content and entertainment for its subscribers.
