Michel Therrien Named Head Coach for Canada’s Spengler Cup Squad as Coaching Staff Revealed
Canada has announced its coaching lineup for the 2025 Spengler Cup tournament. Former Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien is set to lead as the head coach. He will be supported by Drew Bannister, Rob Cookson, and Patrice Lefebvre as assistant coaches. Jérémy Coupal will take on the role of video coach.

Coaching Experience

Bannister has prior experience as the head coach of the St. Louis Blues. Cookson is currently an assistant coach for Lausanne HC in the Swiss National League, while Lefebvre has significant international coaching experience.
Spengler Cup Details
The 2025 Spengler Cup will kick off with a match between Canada and the U.S. Collegiate Selects on December 26. The final game of the tournament is scheduled for December 31.
Canada will compete in a preliminary round that includes host HC Davos and the U.S. Collegiate Selects, promising an exciting tournament ahead.
