Bacolod Philippines Temple Achieves Milestones and San José California Temple Gets Renamed
The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made significant announcements concerning two temples: the Bacolod Philippines Temple and the Sunnyvale California Temple.
Bacolod Philippines Temple Milestones
The Bacolod Philippines Temple is set to achieve important milestones in 2026. A media day for invited guests will occur on April 13, 2026. Following this, the public can tour the temple during an open house from April 16 to May 2, excluding Sundays. The temple dedication will be presided over by Elder Neil L. Andersen from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 10 a.m., with a rebroadcast at 2 p.m.
This temple was announced in October 2019 by President Russell M. Nelson, highlighting the commitment to providing access to sacred spaces as the Church expands. Currently, nearly 900,000 Latter-day Saints reside in approximately 1,325 congregations across the Philippines. The Bacolod Temple will complement another temple— the Davao Philippines Temple— scheduled for dedication on May 3, 2026, under the leadership of Elder Dale G. Renlund.
